Abstract:
The role of the HR sector in large companies affects not only the documentary aspect of the work, but
also helps the organization with long-term business planning in the field of the company's human
resources, the development of the company's employees, the analysis and reward of the work of people
in the company to achieve high results and set goals. Often, neglect of this aspect of work in companies
leads to large losses, the departure of potentially talented employees, which will invariably entail
financial losses for the company. In her research, the author examines the problem of the HR sector
using the example of one large international oil and gas company, represented in Kazakhstan. During
the research, the author conducted in-depth interviews with 15 employees of this company and found
out the strengths and weaknesses of HR specialists in the field under study. As a theoretical basis, the
author refer to the works of the famous scientist Dave Ulrich, in particular, his well-known HR model is
widely used in the study, which includes those competencies of the researched specialist that HR should
ideally have.
